Accounts Receivable Specialist

Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist for an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity with a growing global manufacturer in the Waterloo area. If you're someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and keeping cash flow on track, this could be the perfect next step in your accounting career. In this role, you'll be a key member of the accounting team, partnering with customers and internal stakeholders across multiple business units. You'll gain exposure to a variety of accounts receivable functions, from cash application and collections to account maintenance and credit reviews, while working in a collaborative and team-focused environment.What You'll Be DoingEstablish, maintain, and update customer (business partner) accountsManage collections activities and review aging reports across multiple business unitsPost and apply daily cash transactions, including ACH, wire transfers, lockbox payments, and credit card transactionsPerform account research, reconciliations, and detailed account analysisMonitor customer credit limits and assist with credit-related reviewsPartner with Sales and other departments regarding sales orders, returns, and customer creditsPrepare and support monthly reporting activitiesMaintain accurate records within the ERP system and ensure data integrity What We're Looking ForAccounts receivable or accounting experienceStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent customer service and relationship-building abilitiesPositive, team-oriented attitude with strong interpersonal skillsHighly organized self-starter who can prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsPrior customer service experienceExperience supporting a manufacturing or assembly environmentAdvanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly ExcelExperience working within SAP or another ERP systemWhy Consider This Opportunity?Contract-to-hire with long-term career potentialGlobal manufacturing organization with a collaborative cultureBroad exposure to accounting, collections, and customer-facing responsibilitiesAbility to work in a hybrid capacity once hired permanently.
