Tire Factory Inc is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. This combined accounts receivable and credit/collections role is integral to our daily operations. The ideal candidate has previous experience, can prioritize tasks, and provides great service to our customers. This is an on-site, full-time position.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with a one-hour unpaid meal break (40 hours per week).

Pay

Starting salary is $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.

About the role

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all AR payments and credit applications, and for collecting on AR balances.

Responsibilities

  • AR payment processing, including credit card payments.
  • Respond to AR inquiries in a prompt manner.
  • Work with the Credit Manager and Sales Manager on troubled accounts.
  • Operate the check reader for remote deposits.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Send hard-copy mail and email statements to a select list of customers.
  • Process credit applications.
  • Collect on aged AR balances for the customers assigned to this role.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of accounts receivable experience in a mid-size accounting environment, or an equivalent combination of experience and education, are preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word is required; experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus.
  • Basic business math proficiency and a basic understanding of business practices, including filing and telephone etiquette.
  • Demonstrated work history of dependability along with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new software programs.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, and to multi-task.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Ability to operate computer hardware and software at a level needed to effectively perform job functions, including entering and retrieving data and preparing simple reports.
