Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the role

Join URM Stores as an Accounts Receivable Specialist and play a vital role in supporting the financial health and success of our organization. In this dynamic position, you'll manage business-to-business collections, conduct credit analysis, review aging reports, investigate and resolve account discrepancies, and contribute to impactful special projects. Your work will help drive operational excellence and support strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Accurately post customer payments and maintain account records within the accounts receivable system.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, answering questions related to invoices and payment applications.
• Identify outstanding balances and process credit card and ACH sweep payments.
• Perform daily reconciliations of the accounts receivable subsystem to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Manage incoming mail and support payment collection activities.
• Digitally archive credit memos and other important Accounts Receivable documentation.
• Monitor and track expiring reseller permits for Foodservice and C-Store customers.
• Assist with the preparation and distribution of customer statements.
• Provide front desk reception coverage as needed.
• Maintain organized customer files, correspondence, and remittance information.
• Support team members through cross-training and backup coverage.
• Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives that help drive business success.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience and a solid understanding of day-to-day AR processes.
• A working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel and Word to analyze data, maintain records, and support business operations.
• Strong spreadsheet, calculator, and data-entry skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience with 10-key data entry and a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
• A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
• Experience with accounting software is a plus.

Pay

Salary range is $21 - $25/hour. An employee’s placement within the salary range is determined by a variety of factors, including the applicable minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic area, job performance, shift assignments, travel requirements, and overall business or organizational needs.
