Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Representative II supports the UofL Physicians CBO in various financial, clerical, and administrative duties. These duties may include:

  • Research and follow up on specialty or payor-specific denials and appealing denials as needed.
  • Charge corrections, authorization, and referral-type denial appeals.
  • Research and educate on changes to payor programs.
  • Support special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

Monitor and execute work within the Epic Work Queues.

  • Research and resolve claim denials or rejections based on work team assignment.
  • Key claim detail information into various payor websites.
  • Upload medical records to various websites to resolve denials.
  • Follow up on calls or emails from Patient Financial Specialists, concerning patients requesting advanced assistance with their accounts.
  • Inform management and relevant organizational stakeholders of correspondence and communication problems with service locations.

Requirements

Must have the ability to get along with others in a close office setting.

  • Must have the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
  • Must be willing to function and cooperate as a member of the team.

Qualifications

Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of denial types and resolution steps.
  • Must have 3 years of related experience.
  • Must have strong computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Must have strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be proficient with data entry and multitasking in a Windows environment.

Skills

Desired experience with Microsoft Office Software.

  • Must have the ability to meet productivity and quality standards.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally/in writing with professionalism.
