Responsibilities

  • Follow and implement all directives, policies, and procedures issued by AWARE’s Chief Financial Officer and Business Operations Manager.
  • Relate all new or revised policies, procedures and /or processes to team members to ensure they have the most up-to-date and current information.
  • Facilitate team operations by discussions through the sharing of information and knowledge, identification of teamwork issues, development of problem-solving recommendations, and recommendations of standardizing team operations.
  • Identify practices, most notably in ICPs that are and are not working and make recommendations to the assigned supervisors.
  • Assess the need for training and submit requests to assigned supervisors.
  • Conducts fiscal investigations as directed.
  • Informs immediate supervisor of all staff-related needs as they occur.
  • File a variety of ICP claims and tracking, posting, and filing client charges.
  • Generate and file proper reconciliation reports.
  • Enter claims, payments, and adjustment data regarding Medicaid, making sure to verify eligibility.
  • Assists in the overall management of AWARE’s fiscal departments by illustrating initiative when needed and where expertise allows.
  • Maintains assigned databases.
  • Turns in all documentation as required and meets with the co-employees and the CFO as necessary.
  • Assists AWARE’s Business Operations Manager and Chief Financial Officer as needed, along with offering support to all other administrative staff.

Talents, skills, and abilities

  • Ace of Arts Degree or Certification in Accounting Technology, Bookkeeping, Data/Information Processing, or Business Administration Technology is required;
  • A minimum of two (2) years of accounting and computer experience is also required. Experience with MS Excel and accounting software is desired;
  • Knowledge of accounting methods and statistical processes as well as a working knowledge of office procedures and practices and of office machines;
  • Requires 10-key, keyboard, computer skills (including developing and maintaining Excel spreadsheets), and the abilities to perform calculations, meet deadlines and record data accurately;
  • Requires the abilities to work and communicate effectively with the public, customers, peer professionals, and community personnel and to maintain appropriate work habits, such as organizational skills, time management, punctuality, responsibility, and responsiveness to supervision.
