Responsibilities
- Apply incoming customer payments from multiple channels, including electronic transactions, checks, and lockbox activity, while ensuring receipts are recorded accurately and on time.
- Process account-related transactions such as credits, deductions, chargebacks, and other adjustments in accordance with company procedures.
- Review customer balances regularly, reconcile account activity, and investigate variances to correct posting errors or outstanding discrepancies.
- Prepare and evaluate receivables aging information, follow up on overdue balances, and raise collection concerns when further action is needed.
- Build productive relationships with customers to support prompt payment and improve overall account performance.
- Oversee daily lockbox activity and confirm that all remittances are matched and posted to the appropriate customer accounts.
- Assist with month-end accounts receivable close activities, including reconciliations and reporting support.
- Partner with departments such as Sales and Customer Service to research and resolve billing, payment, and account-related issues.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of accounts receivable experience, with a strong preference for substantial full-cycle AR work in a business-to-business environment.
- Hands-on expertise in cash application, commercial collections, credit support, and chargeback resolution.
- Familiarity with ERP platforms used for receivables processing; experience with Infor is highly valued, and exposure to systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite is also beneficial.
- Background in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and a high level of accuracy when handling financial data.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with a detail-oriented approach to customer and internal interactions.
- Proven ability to organize competing priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a busy on-site environment.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
