Accounts Receivable and Billing Operations Manager
About the role
The Accounts Receivable and Billing Operations Manager will oversee the billing operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the full billing cycle. This role involves supporting recurring and usage-based billing models, driving system and process improvements, maintaining AR health, leading quarter-end write-offs, and supporting monthly accounting close activities.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end billing operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the full billing cycle.
- Support recurring, and usage-based, billing models across systems for a variety of subscription, invoicing, and payment term configurations.
- Drive system and process improvements, including AI adoption, automation initiatives, and integrations to streamline workflows.
- Maintain strong AR health through proactive aging reviews, collections coordination with the sales team, and timely resolution of billing inquiries.
- Lead quarter-end write-off recommendations and own AR reporting, including aging analysis, allowance for doubtful accounts, and related GL reconciliations.
- Support monthly accounting close activities, including contract review, usage validation, invoice verification, journal entries, reconciliations, and analytics.
- Support external audit requirements and manage PBC requests related to billing operations.
- Support the operational processes for new SKU creation, new product launches, pricing models, and business initiatives.
Requirements
5+ years of progressive billing operations experience, including 2+ years focused on billing and collections in a SaaS or technology company. Experience with automation tools and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Stripe, Salesforce CPQ). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex contracts and data sets. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and completeness. Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present financial insights clearly. Experience in designing and maintaining internal controls and documentation to support audit readiness and SOX compliance.

Pay
The typical starting salary for this role in the US is $85,000 - $150,000 USD. In certain locations, such as the San Francisco Bay Area and the New York City Metro Area, a premium market range may apply, as listed.
