Job Overview

Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounts Receivable Accountant (Temporary) in New York, NY for their client.

Responsibilities

• Maintain customer accounts, process receivables, and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
• Cash Application: Apply incoming payments, research discrepancies, and reconcile customer balances.
• Collections: Contact customers regarding outstanding invoices and support the resolution of past-due accounts.
• Account Reconciliations: Reconcile accounts receivable balances and investigate payment, billing, and aging differences.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare aging reports and provide supporting information for month-end close and management review.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years of accounts receivable, collections, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience is required.
• Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes, cash application, account reconciliations, and collections practices is required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting or ERP systems are required.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage customer outreach, maintain accuracy, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
