Accounts Payable Specialist- Temporary

SWCA Environmental Consultants has an immediate need for a temporary Accounts Payable Specialist to support our Corporate Office in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a temporary, up to 40 hours/week, non-exempt, hourly position expected to last six months with potential to transition into a regular status role. Hybrid work environments may be possible, but the position requires going into the Phoenix office on a scheduled day each month to complete check runs.

Responsibilities

• Full cycle AP support of several field offices, including vendor invoice and expense report processing.
• Ensure invoices are properly approved within Company policy and charged to the correct project and General Ledger account number.
• Verify proper approvals for payment on invoices.
• Accurate coding and processing of expense reports.
• Assist in maintaining the Accounts Payable email inbox, payment status requests, and other inquiries.
• Research supplier inquiries.
• Verify and maintain vendor setup in all relevant systems and ensure proper documentation compliance.
• Assist the accounting department with special projects as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Previous Accounts Payable experience.
• Previous data entry experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient computer skills in MS Office products.

Preferred Qualifications

• Emburse software experience.
• Experience handling subcontracts and/or subcontractor invoices.
• College coursework in accounting.

Pay

An employee in this Phoenix-based position can expect an hourly wage of $21.94/hr. - $27.82/hr. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements, and other factors permitted by law.
