Responsibilities
- Review incoming invoices for accuracy, assign the appropriate account codes, and enter payment details into the accounting system.
- Process accounts payable transactions in a timely manner to ensure vendors are paid according to agreed terms.
- Prepare and complete check runs and ACH payments while maintaining proper supporting documentation.
- Reconcile payable records, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues related to invoice amounts or coding.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to answer payment questions and obtain missing information when needed.
- Maintain organized financial records and support audit readiness through accurate filing and documentation practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
- Strong understanding of invoice coding, account coding, and payable processing procedures.
- Hands-on experience preparing ACH payments and managing check run activity.
- High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail when reviewing financial documents.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a structured work environment.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and standard business software used for data entry and reporting.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience in a professional accounting environment is preferred but not required. Applicants should be able to pass a background check and drug test.
