Accounts Payable Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to confirm authorization and maintain internal controls.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor and internal inquiries, resolving discrepancies and payment issues.
  • Maintain organized documentation and assist with audit readiness and month-end close activities.
  • Ensure all processes comply with internal policies, IRS regulations, and GAAP standards.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma required; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 2–3 years of accounts payable or relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on vendor relationship management.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP principles and basic accounting practices.
