About the role

The Accounts Payable Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting CRISTA Ministries' mission by handling accounts payable and managing the corporate purchasing card system.

Responsibilities

  • Perform necessary accounting functions for all ministries, including processing payables and vendor account reviews.
  • Manage the corporate purchasing card program, including user activation/deactivation, statement audits, infrastructure maintenance, and limit changes.
  • Follow up on outstanding checks and file uncashed checks with the state's unclaimed property division.
  • Process accounts payable-related journal entries.
  • Ensure compliance with CRISTA policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Support the Finance Operations Manager with internal control audits and assist with process and system improvements.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, coworkers, and customers to ensure efficient and professional work.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Two years of experience with computerized accounts payable systems and general ledger systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Unit4 ERP/Business World On (BWO) and/or a purchasing card program.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Unit4 ERP/Business World On (BWO) and/or a purchasing card program.
