About the role
The Accounts Payable Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting CRISTA Ministries' mission by handling accounts payable and managing the corporate purchasing card system.
Responsibilities
- Perform necessary accounting functions for all ministries, including processing payables and vendor account reviews.
- Manage the corporate purchasing card program, including user activation/deactivation, statement audits, infrastructure maintenance, and limit changes.
- Follow up on outstanding checks and file uncashed checks with the state's unclaimed property division.
- Process accounts payable-related journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with CRISTA policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Support the Finance Operations Manager with internal control audits and assist with process and system improvements.
- Collaborate with supervisors, coworkers, and customers to ensure efficient and professional work.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Two years of experience with computerized accounts payable systems and general ledger systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with Unit4 ERP/Business World On (BWO) and/or a purchasing card program.

Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Unit4 ERP/Business World On (BWO) and/or a purchasing card program.
