Accounts Payable Specalist

About the role

The Accounts Payable Specialist at Crescent Electric is responsible for reviewing and paying invoices from suppliers, working with internal and external partners, and ensuring accurate and timely payments.

Responsibilities

• Receives and reviews payables invoices and works with other departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Aids in monitoring queues and establishing workflows for the Accounts Payable team.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures during data entry and invoice processing.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for payable inquiries and resolves billing discrepancies.
• Audits incomplete purchase orders and follows up with relevant departments.
• Communicates with suppliers and branches to address issues related to the delivery of goods.
• Aids in coordinating payables distributions and assisting with training new employees.
• Handles telephone inquiries, takes messages, files documents, and performs other administrative tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to three months related experience or training.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of Eclipse is preferred.
• Ability to perform frequent sitting, standing, walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, talking, and hearing.
• Occasional lifting up to 5 lbs.
• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
• Ability to adjust focus and use technology (phone, computer, printer, keyboard, 10-key calculator).
• Physical demands include attending branch/company meetings and events, and occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three months related experience or training.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
