Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Accounts Payable operations across multiple affiliated companies and business units, ensuring consistency in policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Lead AP-related system implementations, process improvements, and ERP enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
  • Cash requirements and payment planning with Treasury to support cash management and business objectives.
  • Coordinate with Treasury to support cash management and business objectives.
  • Provide training and development to AP staff, including assigning work tasks and monitoring performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve AP workflows, approval hierarchies, vendor onboarding procedures, and payment controls.
  • Analyze AP metrics, payment trends, aging reports, and operational data to identify risks, improve performance of the team overall, and support management decision-making.
  • Serve as a key cross-functional partner between Accounting, Logistics, Operations, Trade Execution, and Management teams.
  • Support acquisitions, new entity integrations, and organizational growth initiatives by establishing AP processes, controls, and reporting structures.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and standardization of AP processes across multiple business units.
  • Review high-value vendor payments and escalated issues requiring management intervention.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, banking controls, and regulatory obligations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related major
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in AP / Accounting
  • 3+ years in supervising an AP specialist or staff required
  • Proficient in MS Office and hands-on experience with Accounting / ERP systems
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication internally and externally to a variety of third parties
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Capable of being an effective team member and display initiative
  • In-person position 4 days a week and 1 day remote
