About the role

We are seeking an exceptional Accounts Payable Manager who brings a strong sense of ownership and excels in dynamic, fast-paced environments. This role will be integral in supporting day-to-day accounts payable operations, managing vendor relationships, and partnering with internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate thrives in navigating ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and maintaining a high standard for accuracy and precision. This role is more than just processing invoices—you’ll leverage strong accounting fundamentals daily while building a scalable Accounts Payable function.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable cycle, from invoice intake and processing to approvals, payment disbursement, and account reconciliation.
  • Process a high volume of invoices and requests—ensuring proper coding, contract and purchase order review, approvals, and adherence to company procedures.
  • Lead vendor management by maintaining pristine records, facilitating vendor relationships and communications, and proactively resolving issues and discrepancies.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Shipping and Receiving, and Finance to ensure accurate three-way match, goods receipt, and timely payments.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with tax reporting and regulatory requirements, including annual 1099 filing.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the accounts payable function by identifying opportunities for automation, increased efficiency, cost reduction, and adoption of best-practice processes.
  • Collaborate with the broader accounting team on month-end financial close activities, external audit requests, and ad-hoc projects.
  • Work 4-5 days per week out of our office in Los Angeles (Hawthorne), California.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years leading the AP function.
  • Uncompromising attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills paired with strong accounting judgment and a solutions-driven mindset.
  • Passionate about accounting operations with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Netsuite and/or Ramp.
  • Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or other high-growth manufacturing environments.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits 100% paid for by the company.
  • 401k with 50% company match up to 6% of pay.
  • FSA, HSA, and life insurance.
  • Free daily lunch, ‘No meeting Fridays’, unlimited PTO, and casual dress code.
  • Competitive base salaries, generous pre-IPO stock option grants, relocation assistance, and (coming soon) annual bonuses.

Pay

$125,000 - $150,000 (base salary only; excludes bonus, equity, and benefits).

Schedule

4-5 days per week in-office (Los Angeles, Hawthorne).
