Accounts Payable Clerk

Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and routine bookkeeping.
- Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger records, investigate discrepancies, and resolve them promptly.
- Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysis.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support leadership planning, board reporting, and investor updates.
- Gather and organize documentation for tax filings and support the external tax preparation process.
- Help develop budgets by compiling financial data and partnering with management on planning.
- Conduct internal reviews of accounting records and processes, and recommend improvements that strengthen controls and efficiency.
- Help maintain compliance with applicable financial regulations and stay current on relevant accounting standards.
- Support further development of ERP and accounts systems.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience across AP, AR, reconciliations, and close.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel for reporting, analysis, and data organization.
- Ability to prepare financial statements and interpret financial information with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with accounting software and ERP platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, ADP, or Great Plains).
- Understanding of audit support, budget tracking, and general accounting procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain organized records, and communicate clearly in a structured environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a manufacturing, hardware, or defense-technology company.
- Familiarity with government contract accounting and cost principles (FAR/DFARS, DCAA-compliant cost tracking) or govcon ERP systems.
- Experience with government contract accounting; including tracking of direct and indirect costs, contract billing, and documentation supporting allowable/unallowable cost treatment.
- Experience supporting a company through rapid headcount and revenue growth.
