Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for a detail-focused Accounts Payable Clerk to support daily finance operations in Calera, Alabama. This Contract position is well suited for someone with a solid understanding of basic accounting practices, strong accuracy in high-volume data entry, and confidence using Microsoft Excel. The person in this role will help keep payable records current, organized, and aligned with reporting deadlines while contributing to the broader accounting team. Responsibilities: • Enter invoice and payment information into accounting records accurately and within established timelines. • Assist with accounts payable activities by reviewing transaction details and helping maintain complete financial documentation. • Contribute to month-end close by preparing payable-related reports, reconciling supporting schedules, and organizing required records. • Maintain orderly digital and physical filing systems so invoices, approvals, and related documents are easy to retrieve. • Use Microsoft Excel to track payable activity, update spreadsheets, and support routine financial analysis. • Partner with accounting staff on day-to-day assignments and provide assistance with additional projects as business needs arise. • Prior exposure to accounts payable processes or foundational accounting coursework is preferred. • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work confidently with spreadsheets and financial data. • Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet recurring deadlines. • Clear written and verbal communication skills for working effectively with the finance team. • Comfort handling confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
