About the role

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join a team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this long-term contract Accounts Payable Clerk position, you will play a critical role in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring smooth operations within the department. This Accounts Payable Clerk is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Process and ensure timely payment of invoices using the client's processing system.
  • Address vendor payment concerns by collaborating with the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of campus residents, including locations and occupants of apartments and houses.
  • Manage incoming work requests, prioritize tasks, and follow up on completion as needed.
  • Prepare requisitions and coordinate with staff to describe goods or services accurately.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, labeling, and distributing paychecks.
  • Oversee petty cash management and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
  • Order supplies and equipment to meet departmental needs.
  • Take emergency calls related to facilities and escalate issues to the appropriate department heads.
  • Maintain both physical and digital files for Campus Operations and Security while ensuring confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payment procedures.
  • Proficiency in using financial systems and software such as Outlook, Excel, and accounting tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of operational functions, including housekeeping, maintenance, and grounds management.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain physical and virtual files in compliance with confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to resolve vendor payment issues and maintain positive vendor relationships.
