Accounts Payable Clerk
Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices with accuracy and in accordance with established accounting procedures.
- Assign appropriate coding to invoices and verify supporting documentation before submission for payment.
- Prepare and assist with check runs to ensure vendors are paid correctly and on schedule.
- Reconcile accounts payable records and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate balances.
- Compile non-inventory reporting and help produce month-end financial reports for the accounting team.
- Use Excel extensively to organize data, track transactions, and support reporting needs.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve invoice, payment, and account issues efficiently.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
- Strong Excel skills with a high level of comfort working with spreadsheets and financial data.
- Practical experience with invoice processing, invoice coding, and check run support.
- Ability to perform account reconciliations and identify discrepancies with attention to detail.
- Experience preparing reports in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
- Background in an accounts payable specialist capacity is helpful.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
