About the role
This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage invoice-related issues, maintain accurate vendor records, and help keep payment activity on schedule. The role requires sound knowledge of accounts payable practices, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve invoice exceptions by reviewing receiving details, quantities, pricing concerns, shortages, and overages so payments can be completed accurately.
- Prepare and process debit and credit adjustments while ensuring supporting documentation is properly reflected in accounts payable records.
- Review open credit balances across vendor accounts, research outstanding items.
- Update vendor information as needed and communicate necessary changes to the Accounts Payable Manager to maintain accurate records.
- Perform routine data entry to support invoice handling, account maintenance, and departmental documentation needs.
- Respond to vendor inquiries with professionalism and discretion while helping address payment concerns in a timely manner.
- Escalate vendor credit hold issues promptly, explain underlying causes, and partner with the Accounts Payable Manager to support resolution.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
- Working knowledge of invoice processing, invoice coding, and check run procedures.
- Ability to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies involving pricing, quantities, shortages, and overages.
- Experience handling debit and credit transactions and reviewing vendor credit balances.
- Familiarity with reconciling vendor statements and investigating outstanding account items.
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
