Accounts Payable Specialist – Construction We’re seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist with construction pay application experience to support vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and accurate project cost tracking. Accounts Payable Opportunity Highlights Work with a leader who enjoys mentoring and developing employees, with opportunities to learn additional responsibilities if growth interests youBuild valuable construction accounting expertise, including subcontractor pay applications, retainage, and job costingCollaborate with accounting and project teams while gaining exposure to the financial side of constructionTake ownership of important processes that keep projects and payments moving Accounts Payable Key Responsibilities Review and process subcontractor pay applications, verifying amounts against subcontract agreements, approved change orders, and supporting documentationTrack retainage and obtain required lien waivers before releasing paymentsThe accounts payable specialist will process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate approvals, project assignments, and cost codingCoordinate with project managers to resolve discrepancies and obtain payment approvalsPrepare payment runs according to company procedures and contractual termsReconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and respond to payment inquiriesMaintain vendor records, W-9s, and supporting payment documentationAssist with month-end close, accounts payable reconciliations, and audit requests Accounts Payable Qualifications Previous accounts payable experience in the construction industryHands-on experience reviewing and processing subcontractor pay applications requiredUnderstanding of retainage, lien waivers, subcontract agreements, and construction billingStrong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage deadlinesEffective communication skills and a collaborative approachProficiency with Excel and accounting softwareFamiliarity with AIA billing forms and construction accounting systems preferred Salary up $65K #INOCT2026
