Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor

Worker Type Regular Summary Job Description The Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor will support the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable function within both the Space, Cyber & Directed Energy (SC&DE) and Autonomous Systems (AxS) business segments. In this role, The AP Supervisor will report to AV’s Sr. Manager, Accounts Payable and assist the Accounts Payable staff with training, problem resolution, and monitoring daily activity. The AP Supervisor will also manage and review the invoice entry process and payments process to ensure proper coding, invoice approval and timeliness. Position Responsibilities Voucher AP invoices, support check runs, ACH and wires, PSIGen (AP intake) and/or data entry as neededReview AP aging reports and payment requests from suppliers & employees to ensure timely approval of invoices and paymentsCoordinate verification of open receipts monthly and work with cross-department personnel to clear problem receipt information, as requiredReview setup of new suppliers including payment terms and banking informationIdentify procedure-enhancing processes to ensure timely payment of invoices and discount-taking opportunitiesEnsure the timely and accurate month-end closing of Accounts Payable, including monthly accruals of liabilities, in accordance with applicable internal controls (SOX)Monitor and assist with P-Card and T&E card program management and training of usersCreates an environment of continuous process improvement and looks for opportunities for process re-engineeringEnsures compliance with DE-542 and 1096/1098/1099 filingsResponsible for account reconciliations and ensure discrepant items are resolved in a timely mannerParticipate in systems testing to ensure changes and upgrades are working as designedSupports Oracle Fusion implementation process, including testing and data migration efforts.Other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience) Education High School Diploma/GED is requiredBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred Experience Minimum of 4-6 years of Accounts Payable experience.Minimum 2 years of supervisor experience with groups of 5 or moreDemonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills with strong people-skills are mandatoryDemonstrated high proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products, with emphasis on ExcelPrevious supervisor responsibility in a publicly traded company is preferredPrevious experience with government contracting, FAR/CAS compliance and/or aerospace and defense industry are preferredPrevious experience with Unanet and/or Oracle Fusion preferred Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience) Demonstrates competency in managing multiple priorities and achieving deadlinesSkilled at working under short-term deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and efficiencyAble to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentDisplays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectivesTakes ownership and responsibility for current and past work productsIs committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the companyHas effective problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written).Focused on teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interests Physical Demands Ability to work in an office environment (Constant)Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent) Clearance Level No Clearance The Salary Range For This Role Is $63,000 - $96,000 AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
