Responsibilities
- Perform vendor payment reconciliation and serve as a subject matter expert for various accounts payable functions.
- Reviews, analyzes, and resolves complex invoice, vendor, and payment issues.
- Prepare, issue, and file 1099s in compliance with IRS regulations.
- Aid in the annual financial statement audit by pulling and compiling disbursements support and explaining to audit teams.
- Highlight opportunities for continuous improvement to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Adhere to accounts payable, accounting policies, internal controls, and best practices.
- Train and coach onshore and offshore teams.
- Review debit balances on vendor accounts and take appropriate action.
- Ensure payables do not exceed 90 days.
- Act as a key contact between vendors and internal production teams, resolving discrepancies and disputes promptly.
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Accurately review and approve Vendor Maintenance requests.
- Oversee processes and perform random operational audits.
- Support accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
- Contribute to special projects in collaboration with the manager.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years’ experience in accounts payable, preferably in manufacturing.
- Associate’s degree in business, finance, or accounting, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong attention to detail and open to change management, organization, and time management.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable systems, particularly SAP, EMPAC, and Avantis.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles, practices, and theories.
- Passion for learning through questioning and seeking answers.
- Integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Excellent customer service skills, building cooperative relationships with other teams.
