Accounts Payable Analyst

Our client, in the energy industry, is in need for an Accounts Payable Analyst to joint their team on a contract basis! This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for an Accounts Payable Specialist with strong attention to detail who can manage invoice processing, payments, and compliance activities with accuracy and consistency. The role supports daily accounts payable operations while helping maintain strong financial controls, reliable records, and responsive service for internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities:• Manage end-to-end invoice processing and payment activities, including ACH, checks, wires, and other scheduled disbursements in line with company guidelines.• High volume - 300-400 invoices a month, both non-PO invoices, and PO invoices• 3way and 2way matching• Review open items and payment priorities, secure required approvals, and prepare supporting documentation to ensure timely vendor payments.• Reconcile vendor statements and payable accounts, resolve discrepancies, and submit journal entry support when adjustments are needed.• Apply accounts payable policies and procedures consistently while serving as a key point of contact for employees, suppliers, and business partners.• Support tax-related accounts payable tasks by handling exemption documentation, assisting with 1099 reporting, and monitoring sales and use tax compliance requirements.• Contribute to the upkeep and enhancement of expense and payables tools, including Concur, to improve efficiency and accuracy.• Assist with required financial filings and declarations related to accounts payable activities as assigned.• Help identify process improvement opportunities and support best-practice initiatives that strengthen controls and streamline workflows.• Perform additional accounting support duties and special projects based on business needs. • At least 3 years of relevant experience• Hands-on ability to process high volumes of invoices and payments accurately, including account coding, purchase order matching, and three-way matching.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.• Working knowledge of accounts payable processes such as ACH payments, check runs, invoice coding, and vendor account maintenance.• Experience using ERP or financial systems such as SAP, or Sage, Oracle or similar platforms is preferred.• Strong understanding of accounting principles, compliance standards, and tax-related requirements that affect accounts payable operations.• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills with a strong focus on accuracy, deadlines, and continuous improvement.
