About the Role
Sysco is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to support financial operations by processing invoices and expenses, reconciling transactions, managing vendor payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Accounts Payable Clerk will review and record invoice and expense information, process vendor and employee payments, resolve discrepancies, reconcile financial records, and protect confidential organizational information.
Responsibilities
- Analyze invoice and expense reports and charge expenses to appropriate accounts and cost centers.
- Record accounting entries accurately.
- Monitor vendor discount opportunities and schedule payments.
- Verify federal identification numbers and payment documentation.
- Prepare vendor checks and employee expense payments.
- Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, and payment discrepancies.
- Process stop-payments and purchase order amendments when required.
- Ensure credits are received for outstanding credit memos.
- Review and verify employee expense reports and advance requests.
- Reconcile processed transactions by comparing system reports with account balances.
- Process customer credits.
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational and financial information.
- Support continuous improvement of the payment process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience working as an Accounts Payable Clerk.
- Ability to accurately process invoices, expenses, payments, and accounting entries.
- Ability to reconcile system reports with account balances.
- Ability to identify and resolve payment and documentation discrepancies.
- Ability to maintain confidential financial information.
- Ability to work with vendors, employees, and internal financial systems.
