Accounting Technician II - Hybrid.
About the role
This hybrid position works three days in the office each week and provides accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card reconciliations, and travel expense reimbursements.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and audits all requisitions, updates and maintains the requisition log, and follows up and provides updates on aging 65% requisitions.
- Reviews, verifies and approves incoming invoices and determines the best method to process payments.
- Provides back-up by answering incoming calls from the help desk lines and entering callers' information and requests in the system.
- Provides back-up for CMMS and Procurement by adding, deleting and editing data.
- Maintains the Spending Plan by compiling and analyzing all acquisitions documents, and ensuring compliance with the overall budget and State rules.
- Prepares reports, processes billings, approves invoices, processes payments, and audits accounts payable and receivable.
Requirements
The position requires a combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an accounting related occupation equal to at least two (2) years. Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position is preferred.
Qualifications
Experience in an accounting related occupation is required. The exceptional candidate will possess the proven ability or accomplishment in the following preferred qualifications: previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position.
Skills
A strong attention to detail, working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and basic understanding of accounting concepts including, but not limited to, debits and credits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, deferred revenues, and reconciliation are required. Excellent communication and customer service skills are also essential.
