About the role
Under the general supervision of the One-Stop Manager, the Accounting Technician II independently performs a variety of moderately complex accounting, financial, and cashiering functions in support of One-Stop Financial Services (OSFS). The incumbent provides high-level customer service to students, faculty, staff, and external partners in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. The position requires a thorough knowledge of accounting practices, student account regulations, CSU fiscal policies, and internal control procedures. The incumbent exercises sound judgment, maintains confidentiality, and ensures accuracy and compliance in all financial transactions.
Responsibilities
- Perform moderately complex accounting, financial, and cashiering functions.
- Provide high-level customer service to students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
- Analyze and interpret accounting data and financial records.
- Prepare clear, accurate financial records, statements, and reports.
- Apply problem-solving techniques to resolve accounting issues.
- Interpret and explain policies and procedures in written, verbal, or presentation formats.
- Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Exercise sound judgment in making decisions and recommendations related to accounting activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise tact, discretion, and judgment when interacting with the campus community.
Requirements
- Three years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
- Experience with front-office cashiering operations.
- Proficiency with desktop software, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience handling student-related issues.
- Demonstrated ability to apply accounting procedures and practices to analyze moderately complex accounting problems.
- Demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.
- Must satisfactorily complete a background check (including a criminal records check) prior to employment.
- Must reside in the State of California upon date of hire (CSU Out-of-State Employment Policy prohibits hiring for CSU-related work outside California).

Pay
Salary range: $4,037 – $5,881 per month (budgeted hiring range: $4,037 – $4,200 per month).
Schedule
Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (non-exempt classification).
