Accounting Technician

About the role
Under general supervision, performs a variety of paraprofessional accounting duties in the preparation, maintenance, and processing of accounting records and financial transactions including payroll, purchasing, rent collections, accounts payable, and verification of financial transactions to ensure timely payment of invoices; processes expenses and invoices; completes tax returns and forms; balances accounts; assists in preparing accounts for audit; maintains accurate financial records; assists in the preparation of financial reports and analyses; and performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of directly related experience in processes and systems described above
- Working knowledge and experience in a federally funded program or fund accounting with grant experience
Qualifications
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Skills
- Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures and technical manuals
- Ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, contractors, supervisors, co-workers, residents, and city/county agencies
Pay
Wage range: $22.47 per hour - $27.64 per hour ($46,744.18 - $57,491.20 annually); the starting hourly rate for this position will be $22.47 per hour.
