About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accounting Team Manager to join our Payroll Department. With over 27 years of family ownership and a focus on employee well-being, we are looking for someone who can lead our payroll team and contribute to our forward-thinking approach.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of payroll professionals, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing payroll for multiple clients.
  • Ensure compliance with general accounting principles and not-for-profit compliance requirements, particularly in multi-state payroll environments.
  • Develop and implement payroll processes, integrating software solutions such as QuickBooks, Xero, and others.
  • Oversee the management of real estate development entities, startups, technology companies, franchises, and other diverse client types.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Make informed decisions based on data analysis and industry trends, while maintaining strong client service orientation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years of graduated experience in small business accounting operations across various industries and company sizes.
  • Strong understanding and application of general accounting principles.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll compliance.
  • Knowledge of real estate development and management, including multi-entity operations.
  • Experience with technology companies, SaaS businesses, and franchises.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills, with experience managing a payroll team.
  • Ability to develop and manage complex payroll processes using software tools like QuickBooks, Xero, and others.
  • Experience with PEOs such as JustWorks, TriNet, and similar services.
  • Experience with cloud-based applications and file-sharing services like Google Workspace, Sharefile, OneDrive, Dropbox, SharePoint, etc.

Qualifications

  • Accounting degree or related field.
  • CPA candidate status is a plus.
