Client Accounting Services Manager (Remote)

About the role

The firm is an established and growing CPA and advisory firm that serves privately held businesses, entrepreneurs, medical professionals, and professional service firms nationwide. This position involves managing a portfolio of Client Accounting Services engagements, overseeing monthly financial processes, and building long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Client Accounting Services (CAS) engagements from onboarding through ongoing accounting and financial reporting
• Oversee month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Review accounting work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality
• Serve as the primary accounting advisor for your clients, building long-term relationships and providing ongoing guidance
• Partner with business owners on budgeting, cash flow, financial reporting, and other accounting-related initiatives
• Lead, mentor, and develop members of the CAS team
• Utilize QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting platforms to support client engagements
• Collaborate with internal team members to deliver exceptional client service

Requirements

• 5+ years of Client Accounting Services (CAS), outsourced accounting, or public accounting experience
• Experience managing multiple client relationships in a CAS or outsourced accounting environment
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and month-end close
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience
• QuickBooks Online experience required; Gusto experience is a plus

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• CPA preferred, but not required
• Previous remote work experience preferred

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting platforms
