Purpose & Scope

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for the financial operations of the hospital system by overseeing daily accounting tasks, month-end close processes, financial statements, reconciled accounts, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role includes supervising staff, collaborating closely with accounting leadership and key stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of financial records, and supporting the organization’s mission to deliver high-quality healthcare.

About the Role

This role requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, with 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting. A strong understanding of GAAP, healthcare accounting principles, and regulatory compliance is essential. Advanced knowledge in accounting software such as Lawson, Oracle, Epic, or similar ERP systems is required, with 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, and mentoring direct reports. A CPA certification is mandatory, with a master's degree in accounting or a related field considered in lieu of certification.

  • Advanced proficiency with office technology; Microsoft Outlook and Excel required, and Microsoft Word a plus
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills
  • Full ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance while proactively identifying and resolving issues
