Accounting Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Reads meters and records water consumption
• Removes and replaces meters
• Prepares and maintains files and records
• Cuts off and cuts on meters
• Installs new meters
• Keeps records of meters read
• Reports meters not accessible for reading
• Checks to ensure meters and visible plumbing are correctly installed and functioning properly
• Reports defects to a superior for further actions and replaces broken meters
• Makes special readings as required
• Checks meters for malfunctions or leaks
• Sets meters
• Meets with customers to deal with complaints
• Affords assistance with training of new meter readers
• Rereads meters
• Performs related tasks as required

Requirements

• General knowledge of the methods and procedures involved in the reading of meters and recording of utilities consumption
• General knowledge of the geography and street locations of the County
• Ability to write legibly
• Ability to make simple arithmetical calculations rapidly and accurately
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public
• Ability to walk for extended periods under varying climatic conditions

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some meter reading experience
