Accounting Specialist – New Graduate Opportunity
About the role
Are you graduating with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field and looking for that first opportunity to put what you learned into practice? Enterhealth is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team at the Enterhealth Ranch in Van Alstyne. This is an excellent opportunity for a new graduate who wants more than a narrow entry-level accounting role. You'll gain hands-on exposure to multiple areas of business accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing and procurement, collections, vendor management, reconciliations and financial recordkeeping.
Responsibilities
- Process and track accounts payable and accounts receivable activity.
- Review invoices for accuracy, proper approvals and supporting documentation.
- Assist with coding invoices and expenses to the appropriate accounts or departments.
- Enter and maintain accurate accounting and financial information.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding invoices, payment questions and account discrepancies.
- Support procurement and purchasing for the Ranch, including obtaining information from vendors, processing orders and maintaining purchasing documentation.
- Track purchase orders, invoices, receipts and related records.
- Assist with vendor setup and maintenance.
- Monitor outstanding balances and perform timely, professional collection follow-up.
- Help reconcile invoices, payments, statements and account activity.
- Investigate discrepancies and work with the appropriate departments to resolve them.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper financial records.
- Assist with month-end accounting activities and reporting as assigned.
- Help monitor department spending and purchasing activity.
- Support audits by gathering invoices, receipts, approvals and other financial documentation.
- Work closely with Finance, Operations and department leaders throughout the organization.
- Protect confidential financial, patient and company information.
- Jump in and help with other accounting and business-office projects as you grow in the role.
Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
- Recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with numbers and financial information
- Strong Excel and general computer skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional and comfortable communicating with vendors, employees and leadership
- Willingness to ask questions, learn and take ownership of responsibilities
- Previous accounting, internship, bookkeeping, AP/AR or office experience is a plus
