Accounting Specialist - Entry-Level
About the role
This position is responsible for the project billing and administrative support processes which include: Review, verify and set up project and contract financials and budgets in WRA’s Accounting System; Monitor and match expenses charged to projects with the labor charges; Ensure all billing transactions are completed and accurately recorded in the Accounting system; Review subcontractor invoices for contractual compliance and process vouchers; Generate and distribute project/contract pre-bills and reports; Prepare complex invoices (Cost Plus, Time and Materials, Lump Sum & Fixed Price) and complete monthly billing for assigned projects which may include preparing additional spreadsheets, forms and additional supporting documentation for pre-approval by the Accounting Supervisor and/or the Client; Delivering final invoices, via mail or electronically depending upon client requirements; Investigate and resolve any unbilled billing issues to ensure jobs are billed within each billing cycle; Effectively communicate with Project and Task Managers, regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications; Process Cash Receipts; Process Mileage transaction records; Scanning invoices; Digital filing of invoices and backup; Perform other administrative or accounting related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
- Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 0-4 years of relevant experience.
- Previous experience working in accounting operations for construction, architecture, engineering or other project based professional services company would be beneficial but on-site training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required with strong skills in Excel.
- Adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Detail oriented, able to work independently and efficiently.
- Deltek Vision experience a plus.

The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
