Key Responsibilities
- Agency-Billed Accounting Process and maintain agency-billed client accounts.
- Apply client payments and ensure accurate posting within the agency management system.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Carrier Payables Review and reconcile carrier statements.
- Prepare and process carrier payments in accordance with due dates.
- Investigate and resolve premium, commission, and billing discrepancies with carriers.
- Maintain accurate payable records and supporting documentation.
- Account Reconciliations Perform monthly reconciliations of: Carrier payables Bank accounts
- Research and resolve reconciling items timely.
- Aid in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Premium Tax & Regulatory Reporting Prepare and file surplus lines taxes and reports.
- Prepare and remit municipal premium taxes and fees.
- Maintain filing calendars and monitor reporting deadlines.
- Financial Administration Assist with journal entries and account analysis.
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Support process improvement initiatives and accounting projects.
Desired Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or insurance accounting experience preferred.
- Skills & Competencies: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
