We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support key financial operations for an organization in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with strong experience across payables, receivables, billing, and account balancing while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable activities, including reviewing invoices, preparing disbursements, and ensuring timely payment processing.
- Oversee accounts receivable tasks by issuing invoices, tracking outstanding balances, and following up on open customer accounts.
- Prepare and maintain billing records to support accurate charges, proper documentation, and timely submission.
- Reconcile financial accounts on a routine basis to identify discrepancies, resolve variances, and maintain reliable reporting data.
- Process incoming and outgoing payment transactions with close attention to accuracy, approvals, and established accounting procedures.
- Support general accounting operations by updating financial information, organizing records, and assisting with transaction review.
- Work with internal teams to research payment or billing issues and help bring accounts to resolution efficiently.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Working knowledge of billing processes, payment handling, and account reconciliation practices.
- Ability to maintain accurate financial records and manage detailed transactional data.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Comfortable working in a structured accounting environment with multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in core accounting functions and routine financial administration.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal stakeholders regarding account questions or payment matters.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
