Accounting Specialist

About the role

Our client in the Galleria area is looking for an AR Analyst to join them team on a long term contract basis. This role will work 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including billing, cash application, collections, and account maintenance.
• Monitor customer accounts and proactively investigate outstanding balances, deductions, and payment discrepancies.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Analyze aging reports and provide recommendations to reduce DSO and improve cash flow.
• Research and resolve billing disputes while partnering with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare AR reporting and metrics for management review.
• Support month-end close activities related to accounts receivable.
• Maintain accurate customer records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Assist with audit requests and documentation related to receivables.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within AR operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of Accounts Receivable, Collections, Billing, or AR Analysis experience.
• Strong account reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with ERP systems; Workday experience strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience working in high-volume or multi-entity environments preferred.
