Accounting Specialist

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable, payroll, and other financial transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Review and reconcile invoices, ensuring proper coding and financial data integrity.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to accounting, payroll, and budget records.
• Monitor and track budgets, providing timely financial reports to support operations.
• Maintain organized and accurate records within accounting systems.
• Assist in internal audits and ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with teams to improve accounting workflows and maintain compliance.
• Provide support for payroll processing and ensure timely completion.
• Generate reports and summaries to aid in financial decision-making processes.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of clerical accounting experience, preferably in a government agency or educational institution.
• Familiarity with public sector or school district accounting is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems, with the ability to manage data effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial tasks.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to handle multiple priorities.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data effectively.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
