Accounting Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist for our Warwick based client. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys organized, detail-focused work and wants to build a strong foundation in accounting within a service-driven transportation business. The role will contribute to accurate financial records, timely invoice handling, and smooth coordination with customers, vendors, and internal team members.

Responsibilities

• Create and distribute customer billing
• Record incoming payments, update account information, and keep receivable records current and well documented.
• Review and enter vendor and affiliate invoices, ensuring payments are prepared in line with established terms and deadlines.
• Address routine questions related to invoices, balances, and payment status from customers and vendors in a timely manner.
• Organize accounting files and maintain clear records to support audits, reconciliations, and day-to-day financial operations.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including account review and other assigned bookkeeping tasks.
• Help monitor outstanding balances and support follow-up efforts to improve collections and maintain healthy aging reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in accounting or business is a plus.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, billing, or general office support.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop is required.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and basic bookkeeping practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort using accounting software in a daily workflow.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage records accurately and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and solid organizational abilities in a fast-paced office environment.
