We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for an organization in Vancouver, Washington. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing accounting accuracy with responsive communication across customers and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage invoicing activities and monitor incoming payments to help maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
- Prepare and post routine journal entries while assisting with reconciliation work across key accounts.
- Respond to questions from clients, lending partners, and field personnel regarding balances, payment activity, and account details.
- Proactively contact customers about past-due amounts and unresolved balances, including occasional outbound collection-related calls.
- Coordinate with accounts payable staff, receivables personnel, and accounting leadership to support efficient financial workflows.
- Provide general accounting and administrative assistance as needed to help the department meet daily operational priorities.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in an accounting support or accounting specialist role.
- Working knowledge of accounts receivable, billing processes, and basic accounts payable functions.
- Experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, lenders, field teams, and internal accounting stakeholders.
- Comfortable following up on outstanding balances and handling occasional outbound calls regarding payment status.
- Proficiency with core accounting functions and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
