Accounting Specialist

Description Accounting Specialist Position Overview Responsible for the company's monthly/quarterly/annual closing process, journal entry review, fund disbursement, and tax filing management (in coordination with an external tax firm). Key Responsibilities Closing Lead monthly/quarterly/annual closing processReview and approve journal entriesVerify and reconcile account balancesPrepare and review financial statements (B/S, P/L, C/F)Process accruals, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilitiesMonitor budget vs. actual performance by department Journal Entry Review Review adequacy of supporting documentation for journal entriesVerify accuracy of account classificationConfirm compliance with approval authority proceduresCorrect and reprocess erroneous entries Fund Execution / Disbursement Review and approve payment requestsManage fund disbursement schedulesProcess and verify bank transactionsEnsure compliance with internal controls over fund disbursement Tax Filing Management Coordinate with external tax firm on tax filing processesPrepare and provide data/documentation for tax filingsManage filing schedules (corporate income tax, VAT, etc.)Liaise with tax firm on tax-related issues and resolutionSupport tax audit response Qualifications 4+ years of relevant experienceDegree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent work experienceUnderstanding of US GAAP and the closing processFamiliarity with tax filing processes (direct filing not required — experience managing an external tax firm relationship preferred)Experience with ERP systems (SAP, etc.)Proficient in Excel Preferred Qualifications CPA candidate / CPA license holderEA (Enrolled Agent) license holderClosing experience in manufacturing or a global companyEnglish communication proficiency
