Accounting Specialist (Temp-to-Hire) Newark, NJ | In-Person, Mon-Fri | $65,000 - $70,000 /yr | Temp-to-HireA well established and growing distribution company with a collaborative team that cares about their people is hiring an Accounting Specialist. This is a hands-on role with real variety. You will move between reconciliations, intercompany activity, insurance and claims follow-up, and safety monitoring. Conversion to a full-time role can happen sooner for the right person.What You'll Do:Prepare bank reconciliations across multiple entitiesManage and reconcile intercompany activityReview GL accounts and process AP and AR adjustmentsRun weekly reviews of payroll, overtime, and insurance schedulesPrepare productivity, inventory, and returns reportsFollow up on insurance certificates, auto claims, and workers' comp claimsMonitor fleet safety alerts and escalate as neededSupport monthly and quarterly close tasks, including COGS analysis, loan reconciliations, and AP/AR agingsWhat You Bring:1+ years in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related accounting role (early career candidates with strong fundamentals welcome)Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations, GL accounts, AP/AR, and account analysisIntercompany or multi-entity exposure strongly preferredStrong Excel skillsHighly organized, with the ability to juggle recurring daily, weekly, and monthly tasksSharp attention to detail and follow-throughComfortable handling confidential financial and employee informationInsurance, claims, risk, or safety exposure is a plus, and training is providedWhat's In It For You:Contract with a clear path to a permanent roleVariety every day, so you never get boredTraining in insurance, claims, and risk managementSupportive finance team in a stable, growing companyGreat team, real variety, and a fast track to permanent.
