Part-Time Accounting Operations Consultant Location: Danbury, CT (Remote Candidates Considered) Schedule: Part-Time, Approximately 15–20 Hours per Week Compensation: $44/hour Employment Type: Temporary Consulting Assignment About The Opportunity CFS is partnering with an established organization in the Danbury area seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Consultant to support its accounting operations and process improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys identifying inefficiencies, improving workflows, and implementing practical solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, experience with financial systems, and the ability to balance day-to-day accounting responsibilities with process improvement projects. Responsibilities Support day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and reconciliations. Evaluate existing accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting. Recommend and implement process improvements, including automation of manual accounting tasks. Assist with financial system improvements, transitions, and workflow optimization. Partner with internal stakeholders to streamline accounting operations and establish more efficient procedures. Provide hands-on accounting support while helping improve the overall finance function. Qualifications Strong accounting background, ideally with previous Controller, Accounting Manager, or senior-level accounting experience. Hands-on experience with general accounting, AP, AR, billing, and account reconciliations. Demonstrated experience improving accounting processes, implementing efficiencies, or supporting finance transformation initiatives. Strong understanding of accounting systems and financial workflows. Ability to work independently, assess existing processes, and implement practical solutions. Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
