About the role

The Accounting Operations Analyst supports accurate, timely, and efficient accounting operations by performing and reviewing key transactional processes across accounts payable, expense reporting, vendor and customer administration, and customer billing.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve expense reports and accounts payable transactions.
  • Process annual 1099 reporting and maintain accurate vendor and customer records.
  • Prepare customer invoices and apply established accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Resolve routine discrepancies and partner with employees and internal stakeholders to ensure transactions are complete, accurate, and properly supported.
  • Identify and investigate aged debt, manage the dunning process to maximize collection of overdue payments, and liaise with external customers or partners to resolve complex payment issues.
  • Organize and prepare complex documents using standard office software and gather and summarize data for special reports.
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement by arranging actions, meetings, events, and supporting materials.
  • Analyze specific problems and issues to find the best solutions, which could be technical or professional in nature.
  • Plan and coordinate testing and inspection of products and processes, implement corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives, and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Identify instances of noncompliance with organizational policies and procedures or relevant regulatory codes, report these instances, and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Develop personal capabilities through assessment and development planning activities, formal and informal training, and coaching.
  • Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field OR a combination of post-secondary training, professional education, and related experience equivalent to four (4) years.
  • Three (3) years of demonstrated experience in finance, accounting, or related analyst role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within Workday.

Location

This is a remote position, subject to Sourcewell's telecommuting policies and procedures. Occasional travel to Staples, MN may be required for meetings, professional development, or team activities (up to 2-3 times per year).

Schedule
