Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Direct the monthly close process, ensuring financial results are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities across the general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entry review.
  • Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable staff, providing guidance and maintaining effective workflows.
  • Analyze production and operating variances to identify trends and support sound financial decisions.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations to maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Support audit readiness by organizing financial documentation and responding to audit-related requests.
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting functions, including transaction review, period-end reporting, and balance sheet maintenance

Requirements

  • Experience leading full-cycle accounting activities in a detail-oriented accounting environment.
  • Background in manufacturing accounting with an understanding of cost and variance analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger management.
  • Ability to prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting financial documentation.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring accounts payable and accounts receivable team members.
  • Familiarity with financial statement audits and audit support processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, and at least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing setting. CPA certification is preferred but not required.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
