Accounting Manager/Supervisor

A growing, mission-driven nonprofit organization serving communities throughout Maryland is seeking a Finance Director to join its leadership team. This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in the organization's financial strategy, sustainability, and long-term impact.
Key Responsibilities
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning initiatives.
Monitor financial performance and resource allocation.
Partner with executive leadership to support organizational strategy and sustainability.
Provide financial guidance and analysis to leadership and the Board.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records.
Oversee payroll and accounts payable functions.
Develop and manage cash flow projections.
Perform account reconciliations and prepare journal entries.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal grant requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for leadership and the Board.
Cookordination the annual audit process and IRS Form 990 preparation.
Track grant awards, contracts, and funding requirements.
Monitor grant budgets and expenditures.
Ensure proper allocation and compliance of restricted funds.
Prepare financial reports for funding agencies.
Partner with program leaders to manage grant-funded budgets.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of nonprofit accounting and grant management experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and federal grant regulations.
Familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance and Single Audit requirements.
Experience with government grant reporting and compliance.
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
