Job Summary
Aid in achieving and maintaining adequate internal controls over all areas of hotel operations. Ensure timely completion of all reports generated by accounting staff. Perform various financial report preparations and analyses, handle bank account administration, coordinate hotel cash handling, oversee inventory calculations, review accounts payable and receivable, and provide financial guidance to the hotel operational team.
Essential Functions
- Aid in monthly forecasting
- Prepare all other financial reports and analysis
- Perform other general and administrative functions as needed
- Prepare all month-end reports, including tax reporting packages
- Aid the corporate accounting team in completing and implementing all audit recommendations
- Handle the administration of all bank accounts, ensuring bank reconciliations are updated, and prepare treasury reports
- Cookordination all hotel cash handling operations and procedures
- Ensure cash and credit card deposits are processed and reconciled
Requirements
- A four-year college degree (accounting preferred) or equivalent education/experience
- One to two years of employment in hospitality management or hospitality accounting
- Knowledge of all functions performed by subordinate reporting directly or indirectly to the Hotel Director of Finance
- Advanced knowledge of accounting, finance, and hospitality professions
- Experience in management of people and complex problems
- Ability to make decisions guided by established policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively to provide information and services, supervisory skills
- Knowledge of office management, bank reconciliations, preparation of state and federal reports, training of accounting staff employees, conducting or participating in meetings, analysis of balance sheet accounts, preparation of journal entries, closing the books and preparing the balance sheet package, interviewing and evaluating applicants as well as current employees
- Excellent hearing, vision, and speech communication skills
