We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core accounting operations in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role will oversee the integrity of the general ledger, guide the month-end close process, and support accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly close cycle by coordinating timelines, reviewing results, and ensuring financial data is finalized accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain oversight of the general ledger, including account analysis, balance review, and resolution of discrepancies.
- Prepare and review journal entries to support routine accounting activity and ensure compliance with established policies.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate variances to maintain accurate financial records.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and related schedules for internal review and external reporting needs.
- Partner with audit teams by organizing documentation, responding to requests, and helping facilitate financial statement audit activities.
- Monitor accounting processes and recommend improvements that strengthen accuracy, consistency, and internal controls.
- Supervise day-to-day accounting work, providing guidance and review to ensure deliverables meet quality and deadline expectations.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing month-end close activities within an accounting function.
- Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting principles.
- Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Familiarity with financial statement audit support and auditor request management.
- Ability to identify discrepancies, analyze account activity, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Effective communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and leadership.
