About the role

We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused Accounting Manager to serve as the onsite financial steward for our senior living community within a hybrid Target Operating Model (TOM). This role provides day-to-day execution, resident and department head support, and real-time financial insight, while partnering closely with centralized Centers of Excellence (COEs) and the Regional Finance Partner to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for residents and families regarding billing and financial inquiries.
  • Manage a team of Front Desk Receptionists using strong interpersonal skills.
  • Act as the primary onsite owner for accounting, billing, and financial matters impacting residents, vendors, and department leaders.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Sales to answer prospective residents' financial questions and gather financial qualification information; may participate in aspects of the closing process to ensure smooth financial on-boarding.
  • Research, explain, and resolve resident billing questions, including ancillary charges.
  • Coordinate between the community, corporate centers of excellence, and Regional Finance to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Manage onsite vendor relationships and respond to vendor questions requiring local context.
  • Partner closely with the Regional Finance Partner to align community performance and identify additional resources needed for operational success.
  • Provide local insight, operational context, and issue identification to support forecasting, performance reviews, and strategic decision-making.
  • Serve as the onsite escalation point for financial accountability.
  • Support the Executive Director with financial communications, insights, and leadership.
  • Review detailed financial results with department heads, helping them understand variances, spend drivers, and operational impacts.
  • Provide guidance to department leaders on coding, accrual identification, and spend-down questions.
  • Handle physical invoices, including receipt, scanning, and routing to the centralized AP inbox.
  • Coordinate AP accruals with department heads and COEs to ensure accurate period reporting.
  • Maintain accurate resident financial records and census data in systems such as PCC and C3LinC.
  • Support system data maintenance, resident financial record changes, and census updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 6–8 years of accounting, finance, reporting, or audit experience.
  • Supervisory experience leading a team of 3 or more direct reports.
  • Strong customer service skills and documented leadership, supervision, and communication abilities.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, accruals, financial statements, and reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working across multiple financial systems.
  • Experience influencing outcomes and guiding work through collaboration across centralized teams and local stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Minimum of three years hands-on experience with G/L, A/P, A/R, Payroll, and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency in the use of business office machines, computers, spreadsheets, and word processing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification.
  • Experience in senior living or healthcare.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Point Click Care (PCC) and AP platforms.
  • Active Notary Commission.

Pay

$95,000–$120,000, depending on experience.

Schedule

Monday–Friday (Full Time).
