Accounting Manager (Private Equity)

The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join their central finance team, reporting directly to the Controller. In this role, you'll own accounting operations across a complex multi-entity, multi-state structure — leading close processes, managing intercompany accounting, supporting acquisition integrations, and partnering with FP&A and operational leadership on financial reporting and controls.

What You'll Do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities and locations
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and account analyses
• Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations
• Prepare and review consolidated financial reporting packages
• Support accounting integration of acquired businesses, including chart of accounts mapping, balance sheet validation, and post-close transition activities
• Cook up coordination external audits, lender reporting, and investor-level financial requirements
• Develop, mentor, and supervise accounting staff
• Identify automation and process improvement opportunities across accounting operations
• Parenthood with FP&A and operations leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

What We're Looking For

• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience managing accounting for multi-site, multi-state, or multi-entity organizations
• Strong technical foundation in GAAP, intercompany accounting, consolidations, and complex close processes
• Experience within a private equity-backed organization preferred
• Multi-site services industry experience a plus
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling)
• M&A accounting or acquisition integration experience strongly preferred
